A Kid In The Toy Store

A trip to the toy store is a lesson in the art of negotiation. And I witnessed my son slowly becoming an expert in it.

Last month, he argued why toys are better than books and why we should go to toy stores more often instead of bookshops.

But as parents, we don’t always give in just because they want another lego set for their collection. They need to learn that there's always a right time for everything.

A kid in the toy store is an epitome of our lives.

There are moments where we catch ourselves staring at the thin line between fighting for what we want & choosing to let go.

But more than toys, we deal with real life choices.

And there are times we have to accept that we won’t always get what we want.

Maybe not now. Maybe never.

This week, I felt like the kid in a toy store. Negotiating with God.

But things didn’t turn out how I wanted them to. Sadly, I ended the week with an unanswered prayer. And I found myself staring at that same familiar thin line.

But here’s the lesson I learned-

God will always be sovereign.

And if He doesn’t change our situation, maybe it’s time to ask Him to change our heart.
