The Lord Is Never Far

Last weekend, we visited a park so our son can bike around.

I let him ride a few meters ahead of me so he could get the feel of riding alone.

Watching him from a safe distance, I could hear him laugh and shout as he runs a downhill.

As parents, nurturing our kids can also mean stepping a few meters away and giving them space to learn and to grow.

But the feeling of being on your own is not always fun. Most of the time it's unpleasant.

Whether in biking or in life.

Sometimes that’s how God deals with us.

Do you ever feel God is distant?

Like the disciples on a boat in the middle of the storm.

Like Martha waiting for his brother to be healed.

Like the apostles on the day before Easter.

And maybe just like you right now.

You may feel God is silent and uninvolved.

But the truth is He’s always been there.

Keeping watch over you.

He never left you.

Just as He promised.

He allows moments like these so your faith can grow.

So you'll be ready for the uphills and downhills of life.

So, buckle up.

Fight the good fight.

Finish the race.

Keep the faith.

The Lord is never far, especially to those who are brokenhearted.
