This is how we eat apples. Our son gets the fruit; I get the skin.
People say that good parents will always give the best for their child. Well, maybe more than letting their child eat the yummiest part of a fruit first.
Giving always involves sacrifice. And every good parent is an expert.
They sacrifice their energy staying up late to take care of a sick child. They sacrifice their time to play another round of peek-a-boo. They sacrifice their comfort just to see them grow up gracefully. And all other tiny acts that never get noticed.
Maybe some of us won’t make a dent in the universe. Or leave a legacy that will last generations.
And that is ok.
Because at the end of the day, All of us have a higher calling:
To do all things in the name of our Lord.
To the parents who gave up the good things in order to give their kids the best: your work is not in vain.
After all, you’re putting a smile on God’s face- the creator of the universe.
