Blessed Are The Repotted

While clearing our kitchen counter, I noticed a jar with a weird cut-off veggie scrap right on top, carefully placed near the backsplash.

So I asked my son what it was.

“It’s an experiment,” he said.

A few days later, tiny light green leaves started sprouting up. They looked folded and crumpled, with tiny white veins clearly showing signs of green life.

A regrowth.

A rebirth.

A new lease on life.

According to Google, pechay stalks can grow into new, leafy plants when placed in water. Later, they can be repotted in soil to fully mature.

And here's something I realized.

A plant cannot regrow in the same environment that caused it to wither.

And like our son’s experiment, it needs a new environment, like a new jar of fresh water, for it to flourish.

If you’re in a season where it feels like an old part of you is withering, and you keep asking God for second chances, but nothing seems to change,

I hate to say this, but it is possible that God won’t allow things to go back the same way as before.

Maybe it’s a redirection.

A conviction to let go.

A call to a new environment.

Maybe it’s God’s way of repotting you… into a new you.
