We Were Late For Church
Updated: May 6

I did a quick turn towards the remote parking lot where the church shuttle van would fetch us.
When we got there, the shuttle was about to leave.
Thankfully, the driver stopped when he saw us.
We quickly alighted our car and ran towards the van.
A nice gentleman gladly opened the vehicle door. All smiles, he greeted us, “Good morning!” making us feel like we just came at exactly the right time.
The sermon was about the Rapture.
And one thing that stood out to me was when the pastor asked the question- Why wouldn’t the rapture happen now? What is Jesus waiting on?
His response, “Because Jesus is waiting for the lost to be saved.”
And today I was reminded that I was once that lost man who almost missed the call of Jesus.
But I’m glad He waited for me. Even if it took many years.
And my prayer is that you would know Him, too, before it’s too late.
Like the church shuttle on a quiet Sunday morning,
The Lord’s van is still parked, patiently waiting.
And He gladly opens the door for those who are willing to come to Him.
Maybe Jesus is calling you today.
Don't be late.
---------
The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. - 2 Peter 3:9 ESV
