Where Are You?

I attended a conference last week about the story of the Bible. And part of the message that stuck with me was the story of the fall.

When Adam and Eve fell into sin and God came looking for them, their response was to hide.

Then God called them and said, "Where are you?"

And here is the part that intrigued me.

After telling them the consequences of what they did, God made garments of skin and clothed them.

God could've ended it all. But He didn't. Instead, He sacrificed an animal to clothe the couple and cover up their shame.

More than a visual image, it's a representation that inspite of our sinfulness, God is willing to redeem us even if it requires a sacrifice.

God showed His grace in the Garden. And He is offering His grace to us too, even if we're hiding away from Him.

Maybe you're in the same situation right now.

You messed up and needs help. But you're hiding away from God for too long.

Today God might be calling you.

And instead of hiding, embrace your vulnerability and try turning to Him.

"Hi, Lord.

Sorry I messed up.

I hope it'not too late."

You'll be surprised that He is waiting for you all along.
